Verb Spotlight: Michelle Lee
Welcome back to our Verb Spotlight series, where we shine the light on some of our incredible Verb team members. Today, we’re introducing Michelle Lee, our Director of Customer Success, and what a typical day in her life looks like.
I have spent the last 3.5 years building new processes and brainstorming ideas on how to give our customers the best service possible. There is no typical day for me. The only thing that stays the same day-to-day is that every item on my to-do list is prioritized, with the customer needs coming first.
Morning:
On workdays, I wake up at 6 a.m. and immediately let my fur babies, Piper and Diesel, outside. I make sure to spend some time with them before doing anything else.
Then, I make sure my 17-year-old son has something to eat (his favorite is a breakfast burrito) before he is off to work and make my husband coffee.
Once my family has been taken care of, I drink my pre-workout and head to my home gym. I usually do a Tonal workout and also take a ride on my Peloton. This gets me energized for the day and helps me feel like I can conquer the world.
After that, I check emails/Slack on my phone to scan for urgent issues before getting ready for the day. If there is an urgent or high-priority issue, I start pinging the appropriate team members so it’s the first thing they see when they get into the office.
Then I get ready for the day and head down to my home office.
I have a daily standup meeting each morning to review the progress of onboardings, critical issues that need escalating, and any other urgent or high priority issues with my team.
I am responsible for building and leading the client success team, which consists of various roles like Onboarding Specialists, Integration Specialists, Project Managers, Build Manager, and Content Specialists. I am constantly shuffling tasks and calls to make sure everyone gets what they need to make sure their customers have the best experience possible.
Afternoon:
Lunch is typically at my desk, catching up on emails, working through issues, or helping my team. When it’s sunny, I like to stretch my legs and take my pups outside to play.
I have many meetings throughout the day, especially since we have been working from home, and that schedule varies every day.
Throughout this time, I am constantly thinking of ways we can improve processes, help with troubleshooting, or how to boost morale on the team being remote. I also try to spend some time every day training my amazing team.
Evening:
After we eat, I take the dogs for a walk and relax while spending time with the family for a few hours before bed.
When I am not at work, I enjoy doing anything with my family, especially outside activities. I love playing softball, camping, riding side-by-sides, and barbecuing with friends.
